"I'm Just Small,
That's All" was inspired by my daughter who
was born with a type of dwarfism called
achondroplasia. There are over 200 different forms of
dwarfism of which achondroplasia is the most common.
As a child and adult her short stature and
disproportionate limbs will present her with physical
and emotional challenges.
I wrote this book to
inform other children (from about 3 to 9 years of
age) about her condition and to help them
understand that despite this difference she is
still an ordinary, regular child who likes to play
and laugh just like they do.
Raising a child with a difference has been an
eye-opener for me and her father, but it has
also been extremely rewarding. We have met many
wonderful people through Little People of America,
both average and short stature, who have helped us
understand and appreciate this diverse group of
individuals.
This book is dedicated to Kali and all children
with differences. You are all special and enrich our lives in so
many ways.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our web
